Newcastle business stands up for women’s professional surfing

Surfest are excited to  give an update of our historic Crowd Funding Campaign for the Women’s 6 star event for Surfest 2016.

There is now a commitment for more than three quarters of the 73 sponsorships that are available.

Surfest organisers and supporters have been overwhelmed by this response.   Although it is not a surprise as Hunter businesses have been quick to get behind this incredibly worthwhile event.

The dream of realizing a World Surf League (WSL QS) 6 star women’s event is very quickly becoming a reality thanks to this enthusiasm for world-class international female surf competition.

This is in no small way also due to amazing interest and full coverage from all sections of the local media after an official media launch only a few short weeks ago.

With full subscription coming up fast,  Surfest encourages you to pass the word to friends/associates/colleagues who would be interested in also becoming involved.   Go to the ‘Events’ menu on surfest.com and complete the form to register your interest or send an email to warren.smith@surfest.com.

With the first of the networking functions offered to all sponsors, a breakfast on Friday 9 October at Marina Views on Newcastle Harbour the benefits for sponsors are being realized.    At the breakfast the lucky winner of naming rights sponsorship will be  announced.  Each sponsorship share allows for two (2) representatives to attend this first of other exclusive sponsor events during Surfest 2016.

Surfest organiser Warren Smith said, “A massive thank you to all the Newcastle businesses for their ongoing and generous support for this iconic Newcastle event.”
