Speaking in Colour Womens Pro

Mon 20 Mar
- Sun 26 Mar

The Speaking in Colour Womens Pro marks 37 years of the iconic Newcastle sporting event and the 7th year that the region’s business community has joined together to crowd fund this world class professional surfing contest for women. In 2023 the prize money for the women surfers will be AU$50,000.

The crowdfunding initiative began in 2015 when local business banker, Col Law, developed a crowdfunding idea. Col worked with Surfest organiser Warren Smith and a number of local business people to develop a strategy to fund the event. This strategy would ensure that Newcastle’s iconic Surfest would provide world-class opportunity for women in the sport.

In its 7th year, Speaking in Colour are thrilled to be selected as naming rights sponsor of the 2023 Speaking in Colour Women’s Pro held on the National Surfing Reserve, Merewether Beach between 20 March to 26 March.
