The fifth Evolution Charity Cup will run at Merewether beach on Friday 17th March 2023 as an
integral part of Surfest 2023.

Evolution Advisers previously sponsored the SurfAid and raised over $120,000 for the not-for-profit
humanitarian organisation and The Mark Hughes Foundation raising $350,000 to assist with the
funding of important research in the fight against brain cancer. The Evolution Charity Cup has in
2023 directed their fundraising ability on a not-for-profit local charity doing incredible work –‘Hope
in a Suitcase’.
When notified they were to be the recipients of the 2023 fundraising efforts, Founder and CEO of
Hope in a Suitcase Rachael Clancy said: -“Being the recipient of donations raised by the Evolution
Charity Cup will allow Hope in A Suitcase to continue to empower the lives of children entering out-
of-home care throughout 2023 and beyond. This event provides the ability to make a wave of change
in the foster-care system, moving from a plastic bag of embarrassment, hurt, shame, fear, and
insecurity, to a suitcase of HOPE. Ensuring no child is ever handed a plastic garbage bag and is
instead handed a suitcase of belongings to call their own. Together we can empower these children
with love & self-worth. In turn, equipping them for the challenging journey ahead, creating a space
for resilience & hope for their future. All by jumping on a surfboard and riding a few waves.”
The 2023 Evolution Charity Cup will once again be a tag team event with each team made up of
employees, associates and connections of the business registering and putting their name behind
their team. Each team registers to battle it out in the fundraising stakes and in the water, with prizes
award not only for their surfing ability but also for their ability to raise funds before they hit the
waves.
The Evolution Charity Cup organisers believe the 2023 Evolution Charity Cup is an opportunity to
combine business and pleasure with the added bonus of supporting Surfest and a very worthwhile
local charity.
