The 2020 Surfest Women’s Pro crowdfunding naming rights winner is Doyle Partners
Surfest 2020 marks 35 years of the iconic Newcastle sporting event and the 5th year that the region’s business community has joined as one to crowd fund this world class professional surfing contest for women’s. For the first time in the history of the sport the prize money for the women surfers will be the same as the Surfest men.
The crowdfunding initiative began in 2015 when local business banker, Col Law, developed a crowdfunding idea and then worked with Warren Smith and a number of local business people, to develop to fund the event, ensuring that Newcastle’s iconic Surfest would provide world-class opportunity for women in the sport.
In its fifth year Doyle Partners have been given to opportunity to sponsor this iconic event held on the National Surfing Reserve on Merewether Beach, Newcastle NSW between March 2nd to 8th, 2020. The event will be broadcast live on Surfest.com to a large local and international audience.
Justin Doyle, Partner – Doyle Partners said, “We are thrilled to win the prize, and have enjoyed being a part of the Surfest Women’s Pro crowd funding initiative since it began 5 years ago. It is great to be part of a Newcastle community of businesses that have come together to support this event.

Doyle Partners have been a crowd funder since the inception of the crowdfunding for the women’s event 5 years ago. We are grateful for their support and commitment to Surfest and professional women’s surfing.
What a fantastic way to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Surfest than to have the richest prizemoney for the women’s event in the history of Surfest as well as the largest field of competitors in the main event. We cannot say how thankful we to all of the 97 crowdfunders who support this unique event.
A huge thanks to all our crowdfunders the event would not happen without their support and we look forward to a great Doyle Partners Women’s Pro in 2020 on our National Surfing Reserve, Merewether Beach.”
