Brazilian Adriano de Souza is the winner of the 2008 Mark Richards Pro. He defeated France's Jeremy Flores with a total wave score of 18.00 to be crowned the champion of the 4-star, $US80,000 event.

Current world champion Stephanie Gilmore is the 2008 winner of the $US35,000 6-star World Qualifying Series Midori Pro. She defeated reigning world junior champion Sally Fitzgibbons to take out the title.
