Inaugural Lake Mac Festival of Surfing a huge success

The inaugural Lake Macquarie Festival of Surfing at Redhead beach was a huge success.
Held in solid 1-1.5m waves under blue skies at Redhead’s Little Beach on the weekend of February 14 and 15, surfers contested nine divisions while hundreds of spectators enjoyed ideal beach conditions.

The unique event attracted a high calibre of surfers in all divisions including former world title longboard runner-up Jye Byrnes. It was a coming together of the tribes, with all forms of stand-up surfing represented in a non-stop festival of high performance surfing.
