Lake Mac Festival of Surfing

In 2018 Surfest will again partner with Lake Macquarie City Council to hold the Lake Mac Festival of Surfing. The event will cater for three disciplines of surfing namely, longboards, short boards and stand-up paddleboards (SUP). In 2018, the festival will again be held on Redhead Beach Saturday January 20th and Sunday January 21st, 2018.

The Lake Mac FOS will feature the “ECS Boards Surf SUP & Paddle Battle” This will be the richest prize money for SUP events in Australia. ECS Boards Australia have committed $23,000 in prize money for the SUP event component of the FOS.

“ECS Boards Australia are proud to be a part of Surfest and the Lake Mac FOS at Redhead Beach for 2018. ECS Boards Surf SUP & Paddle Battle will be the richest SUP event in Australia. Prize money of $23,000 is up for grabs split equally for men’s and women’s in both surf and BOP racing! We look forward to seeing the best SUP surfers and paddlers in Australia & from around the world compete at Redhead beach 20th/21st of January 2018 in the ECS Boards SUP surf & Paddle Battle”.

Surfest organiser Warren Smith said “we are so stoked to have ECS Boards Australia support the Lake Mac FOS. SUP surfing is the fastest growing surfing sport and to have ECS commit $23,000 in prize money means we will see the best SUP surfers in Australia compete in the Lake Mac FOS. In 2018 we will feature the Battle of the Paddle for the first time and feature divisions for the the Elite and Open Men and Women” The ECS Boards Surf SUP and Battle Paddle events will be major boost to the 2018 Lake Mac FOS and will showcase the best SUP surfers and paddlers in the country.”
