2013 World Champ Mick Fanning (AUS) wins the ASP Samsung Jeffreys Bay Pro

Mick Fanning of Tweed Heads, NSW, Australia (pictured) took his second victory of the season by winning the J-Bay Open at Supertubes, Jeffreys Bay, South Africa today.

Defeating childhood friend Joel Parkinson (AUS) in the final with a heat total of 17.00 points (out of a possible 20.00) including a near perfect 9.00 point ride and an excellent backup ride of 8.00 points (each out of a possible 10.00).

The victory earns Fanning US$100000 in prize money and moves him into third on the Samsung Galaxy ASP World Tour ratings.

Brazilian Gabriel Medina still holds the ASP World tour ‘yellow jersey’ leading into the next event at Teahipoo, Tahiti commencing on August 15th.
